Changes in Mesopotamian Wetlands: Investigations Using Diverse Remote Sensing Datasets

چکیده

Early civilizations have inhabited areas with stable water resources that supported living needs and activities. The Mesopotamian marshes experienced dramatic changes during the past five decades. aim of this study is to observe, analyse report extent in these from 1972 2020. Data various sources were acquired through Google Earth Engine (GEE) including climate variables, land cover, surface reflectance, occurrence collections. Additionally, streamflow data was also analysed. Methods based on diagnostic analysis monitor evaluate causes results total environmental dynamism. Results show a clear wetlands dynamism over time, decrease incoming flow region due damming upstream tributaries, significant loss marshlands extent, even though no long-term change observed lumped rainfall 1982, periods where meteorological drought had been recorded. Human interventions disturbed ecosystems, which evident when studying changes. These diversion rivers building new drainage system caused migration spatiotemporal marshlands. Nonetheless, restoration plans (after 2003) strong wet conditions (period 2018–2020) helped recover not led regain their former extent. Further studies should pay more attention network within area as well neighbouring regions impact feeds marshes.

Inland wetlands mapping and vulnerability assessment using an integrated geographic information system and remote sensing techniques

The understanding of inland wetlands’ distribution and their level of vulnerability is important to enhance management and conservation efforts. The aim of the study was to map inland wetlands and assess their distribution pattern and vulnerability to natural and human disturbances such as climate change (temperature increase) and human activities by the year 2080. Inland wetland types i.e. for...

The Periodic Changes of East Strait of Hormuz shore line by using of Remote Sensing

One of the sensitive systems in geomorphology is coastal systems in which the change in them is fast due to the collision of two dynamic environments of sea and land.Because Coastal lines can record evidence of geomorphological alterations. Due to several reasons like environment changes, global warming, issues regarding human activities and etc. studies and quantitative measurements from perio...

Investigation of periodic changes of the Oman Sea coastline using remote sensing data and spatial analysis

Extended abstract   1- Introduction Coastal environments are one of the most sensitive environmental systems under the influence of dominant hydrodynamic processes. Coastal changes and evolution are occurring very fast. Coastal areas are now gradually becoming known as severe natural and man-made disturbances, including sea levels rising, coastal erosion and sedimentation, and over-exploitat...
